Yes, there is an 'E' at the end of my name and it is silent. LOL Have traced my heritage back to the 19th cy. Have seen the name 'Brune' in a book I own. There is a guy by the name of 'Guillaume' Italian name but ths guy was a Marshal under Napolean. What do you think?

Michael Mostly Irish though

I also have been looking for a Southern California Clan Brown Society. My father was born in Edinburgh, great-grandfather the Provost of Bonnyrigg (outside of Edinburgh). Many connections with Bethunes, Chisholms, Porteouses, and others, all from the Borders, Edinburgh, Midlothian, etc.

I have recently begun researching my family ancestry. My grandmother's maiden name is Brown and her dad's last name was Brown and so on. I am having a hard time tracing family because they don't know all of the father's names but all of the mothers are named Brown...So I can't pinpoint where it originates. Any suggestions?? I am hoping to be able to join this Clan Brown.

Sadly, the 13th Baronet of Coulston died 29 Mar 2007. Sir Wayne, the 14th Baronet, was b.1952. My cousin has only just now proved a 12-marker Y-DNA match to you and four other DNA participants. We are waiting for the 37-marker test results now. You will hear from me again! Regards, Sandy.

I am trying to get some family history but, my parents and all who proceeded them are now deceased.
My father John Brown was born 15 Nov 1924 In Chryston, Scotland to John & Barbara Brown. Had he been born a few weeks earlier there would have been five generations of John Browns living. My father had three sisters; Barbara, Margaret and Mary. My grandparents, father and his sisters came to America in 1933 from Glasgow and settled in California. My grandfather's brother Hugh Brown settled in British Columbia, Canada.
If anyone has some information it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank-you,
Stephen R Brown
