From: Graeme Macklin (geemac@imagesscotland.co.uk) Home page: http://www.imagesscotland.co.uk February 1 2008 I have just looked at the site and wondered if there were any 'Old Boys' out there that remember my Father, Joseph Macklin ( 1910 ~ 1994 ) He and his Father before him were in the Glasgow Fire Brigade which I understand also involved the Salvage side of the Brigade. I have some old photographs and I think tunic buttons etc that might well be items for the Museum ? Can you please get in touch and I will endeavour to get some historical background to his life in the Brigade. I believe my Dad was the Staff Commandant and was in Falkirk, Clydebank Blitz, Ingram Street and the Southside areas. He also was involved with the Fire Boat in Queens Dock area. I remember being on board seeing it as a boy Brilliant ! Originally we, as a family came from Knightswood ( Archerhill Ave, Pre-Fabs, alas no longer there now! He lived in Blairdardie until passing on and some of the 'Boys' that he taught were residents in the same street Sunnyside Drive which was great for him to meet & see how these Fire Officers had got on in their service.
