I'm interested to know if you have a name for the man on the Monk Fryston Juniors photo as I'm wondering if it is my great, great grandfather who was apparently an active sportsman and set up local football teams in, I guess the 20's/30's

Came to your bonfire last night. Superb !! The best firework display ever and the food was delicious.
Not sure who made the fruit punch but you should sell it !!
Very, very well done. Hope you do it again.

S & N genealogy have available Monk Fryston P.R.s on a CD covering the years 1538 to 1678. These include about 40-50 references to the Shippen name.

Around 1500 William Shippen was born in Hillam/Monck Fryston. I've been told there are no church records available for him. He eventually had a farm in Methley. and raised his family there. Crosfeld. Nunnes are his wife Mary's family names.

Sir, May I complement you on your detail in the pictures which I have looked through before coming to this page. I have had to put my studies on my family for a few years now but have felt the urge to delve deeper into the William Roadhouse family. I have fairly extensive photos of the family who came to canada and settled in Albion Ontario.Their journey from Monk Fryston to canada was a rather formidable task as neither William or his wife Elizabeth Roadhouse nee Crissey where in their 20's. They have left quite a legacy. Sincerely, Bruce D. Roadhouse
