Never saw it at the movies. But each time I caught it on TV it was never in the begining. Finally I bought the video and viewed it. I thought it was a great movie and very poignant. Another great movie by one of the "masters" of the craft. I supplied the major automobiles for Sean Penn's Indian Runner in 91' and would do it again almost for the experience.The Nebraska Dept.of Tourism sends me several books and brochures every spring and i pass out to people going west and you cannot believe the feedback.The real fear that I have is that too many people will discover it(not in my lifetime)and bring their bad habits with them.I'm originally from York and invite everyone to hang your hat there as you go thru on I-80.Enjoy the best of real America. It seems that I read/heard an interview with Alexander Payne that the "Holdrege" location was filmed in Omaha, but I never got an exact address. Thanks! Definitely the Tires Plus is in Council Bluffs because I recognized the businesses out the windows. The film itself was great too! Nebraska is a beautiful state and we get to see it in this movie!
